Staying in control at Slotorado
Responsible gambling Slotorado means using the tools that are already in the account before a problem develops, not after. Compulsive gambling causes measurable financial harm, damages relationships, and is classified as an addictive disorder. The controls listed on this page are available from the account settings panel and do not require a support request to activate. They are more effective when set in advance than when applied during a losing session.
Setting limits before you need them
The table below lists every available control, what it does, and where to find it.
| Tool | What It Does | Where to Set |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | Caps total deposits per day, week, or month — reductions immediate; increases are delayed | Account settings → Responsible gambling |
| Loss limit | Stops play when net losses for the period reach the set amount | Account settings → Responsible gambling |
| Session limit | Ends the session after a set number of minutes; no override while running | Account settings → Responsible gambling |
| Reality check | Displays session time and net result at a fixed interval during play | Account settings → Responsible gambling |
| Cooling-off | Blocks account access for a defined short period | Account settings → Responsible gambling |
| Self-exclusion | Blocks access for a minimum of 6 months; requires support to reactivate | Account settings or via support |
Any limit reduction takes effect immediately. Increases are subject to a mandatory delay — not subject to override.
Deposit, loss and session caps in practice
- To set a deposit limit: open account settings, go to responsible gambling, select deposit limit, choose a period (daily, weekly, or monthly), and enter the maximum amount. The cap applies to all payment methods combined, not per method.
- To set a loss limit: follow the same path and select loss limit. When net losses for the period reach the set amount, further play with real-money balance is blocked until the period resets. Bonus balance behaviour during a loss limit trigger varies — check the specific terms if a bonus is active.
- To set a session limit: choose the session limit option and set a duration in minutes. When the clock reaches zero, the session ends and you are logged out. The timer cannot be extended from inside a running session — this is by design.
Setting all three together provides the strongest structural barrier against spending beyond a planned amount in a single session or across a week.
Reality checks: a prompt mid-session
A reality check displays a notification at fixed intervals while a game is running. The notification shows elapsed time in the current session, the net result to that point, and total amount wagered. The game pauses until you acknowledge the message.
The session timer runs from login and accumulates across game switches. It does not reset when you move to a different title. The timer measures clock time, not perceived time — these diverge significantly during active play. Set the reality check interval short enough to be genuinely informative, not long enough to be easy to dismiss.
Taking a break, short or permanent
Three options exist depending on severity.
- Cooling-off is a temporary block. Common durations are 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days. During cooling-off, deposits and gameplay are blocked. When the period ends, the account reopens automatically. The operator removes the account from all promotional communications for the duration.
- Self-exclusion is a longer-term measure. The minimum is typically 6 months. Self-exclusion cannot be reversed before the chosen period expires. Reactivation after expiry requires a direct request to support and does not happen automatically.
- Permanent closure closes the account without a reactivation path. A permanently closed account cannot be reopened and cannot be replaced with a new registration under the same identity.
Cooling-off suits a player who recognises an early warning sign. Self-exclusion suits a player who has determined that continued play is causing harm. The account closure consequences of each differ significantly.
Recognising when play has stopped being play
These are the patterns, stated without hedging because the cost of ignoring them is real.
Returning to the cashier immediately after a loss to recover it. Lying to people close to you about how much time or money the account has consumed. Borrowing money or using credit specifically to fund deposits. Playing to avoid thinking about something else. Feeling agitated or anxious when not playing. Missing work, social commitments, or daily responsibilities because of time on the platform. Spending more than the session plan, repeatedly, across multiple weeks. Chasing a specific figure — the amount you believe you are owed from previous sessions.
If more than one of these is familiar, activate the tools in the first section. If the tools are already running and have not been enough, the next step is external support.
Help that is not connected to the casino
- Loket Kansspel — 0800 022 55 44 (free, anonymous, available daily). The national gambling helpline for Dutch players. Calls are confidential and do not affect account status.
- AGOG — agog.nl — information, self-assessment tools, and referral pathways for players and their families dealing with gambling-related harm.
- Gamblers Anonymous Nederland — ga-nederland.nl — peer support meetings held in cities across the Netherlands. No professional referral is required to attend. Meeting schedules and locations are listed on the website.
None of these organisations shares information with the casino. Contacting them does not trigger any action on the account.
